There are so many fanboys for the GTA series today that I don't know if anyone could count them all. Anytime a new GTA game comes to the shelves, they'll jump out of their couches for once to go down to their local Wal*Mart to buy it. Sites such as IGN and Gamespot are no better. They're just as fanboy-ish as those geeks who stay at home counting down the days for the next game to come out. Whenever a new GTA game comes into play, sites like IGN are there to credit the game with every innovation known to man, and several known to monkeys. But let's break down each game.

GTA 3 (ps2): Excellent game with an excellent story. A fresh concept to gaming where you could do anything you want whenever you want. Some minor things need fixing, but can be overlooked.

GTA: Vice City: Ok game with good story. It's basically the same thing with no change in graphics or gameplay whatsoever, except you can fly helicopters and ride motorcycles. Game still has the same annoyances as GTA 3, but you can still get passed them though you hope they fix them soon.

GTA: Libery City Stories(psp): Good game. Basically the EXACT same game as GTA 3 only now you can carry it around. Still has those annoyances you wish they would get rid of.

GTA: Vice City Stories (psp): Once again they use the same city, same graphics, same gameplay. Nothing has changed. Annoyances still there. Cop AI STILL the very same. Nothing new at all.

GTA: San Andreas: Same graphics. Same gameplay. But they actually added planes to fly, though that gets boring quickly. Still has the same annoyances as the other games, only the story for this one is very shitty. Added some new things like eating and weight-lifting, but they seem more tedious than anything else.

GTA 4 (ps3 and xbox 360: (what we know so far) Shitty graphics (for the next gen) AND they're rehashing the same city they used twice before. They're probly just getting too lazy to come up with anything new.

The Annoyances THEY NEVER FIXED:
-Cop AI sucks
-All cars magically catch fire when tipped over
---They made this feature worse after GTA 3 when they shorten'd the time it took to explode
-Guns still fired an annoying, unrealistic sound
-Cars and road disappear when driving

They have so far made 5 major GTA games and they didn't fix a single issue while making one of the issues worse.

The simple fact is that GTA isn't original. They just took a bunch of things, did a mediocre job on all of them, and put them together. The least they could do is add some graphical improvement.

GTA features that are not original:
-Full roaming city-if anyone remembers, DRIVER did this.
-Steal any car on the street-Once again, DRIVER.
-Cop car chases-any racing game like NEED FOR SPEED and DRIVER (even DRIVER 1 had better cop AI)

But now GTA is ALWAYS credited when a new game comes out with IGN and Gamespot usually calling those games as nothing more than GTA Clones. DRIV3R came out (and with how they did on their first 2 games, it was certain it would've been like GTA), and got slammed by every site like IGN and Gamespot. Even games like Mafia did. Mafia was even given a lower rating for graphics than GTA (pure proof of fanboy-ism).

Gta Vice City was given a 9.9/10 for graphics by IGN. When san andreas came out, their review stated that the graphics in Vice City needed an overhaul. However, despite the graphics being almost exactly the same in San Andreas, they still scored in the 9's.

Rockstar is pathetic. They rehash the same material over and over again. And people only buy it just because Rockstar happend to get lucky enough to come out with their game first, beating everyone else to it. So they don't have to add anything new to their series because people are stupid enough to praise them anyway.
